The first investigations commenced to apply wallnut –tree management to high density forestry. In 1997 the project received important support from leading Barcelona businessmen including Luis Bassat, David Grebler, Jaume Mercadé and the Anidjar Benarroch family.The company refounded as Cultivos Agroforestales Eccowood S.A. and started a decade of notable success in agroforestry investigation. In 2005, CA EccoWood S.A. permitted one of its clients with some common shareholders to refer to the name EccoWood in its company name EccoWood Invest S.A. and subsequently advised on the latters listing on the Barcelona stock exchange in 2009. With projects underway in Southern Europe, EccoWood has expanded internationally with the first South American office in Buenos Aires and forestry management projects in South America, and diversified with a consultancy and certified forestry management division as well as expanding management services to listed forestry companies.
