LifeLegacy Foundation was established in 1997 as the first and only federally approved 501(c)(3) non-profit research organization that is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks. We set the industry standard that our donor families have come to trust. To ensure the quality of the organs and tissues provided to researchers, LifeLegacy also meets the following high standards: •Adherence to FDA Good Tissue Practices •Inspected and licensed by the New York State Department of Health. •A Qualified Procurement Agency under Arizona Anatomical Gift Act •Abide by both the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act and Title III of the National Organ Transplant Act, which prohibits the buying and selling of organs and tissues. Objectives: 1.To facilitate the distribution of non-transplantable tissue to medical doctors and researchers throughout the world, which minimizes the amount of unused non-transplantable tissue. 2.To increase public awareness of research tissue donation in order to fulfill the overwhelming need of doctors, researchers and educators.

MedCure covers all costs associated with whole body donation including: transportation, cremation, two certified copies of the death certificate, return of cremated remains to family in a heart-shaped urn within four weeks or a memorial scattering at sea.

The College of Medicine, the largest of six colleges at the University of Florida Health Science Center, opened in 1956 with a mission to increase Florida's supply of highly qualified physicians, provide advanced health-care services to Florida residents, and foster discovery in health research. Since graduating its first medical students in 1960, the college has graduated more than 3,700 physicians. St. Jude has long been on the cutting edge of treatment, pioneering the use of bone marrow transplants for numerous childhood diseases, and freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. ALSAC/St. Jude covers all costs not covered by insurance for medical treatment rendered at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Families without insurance are never asked to pay.
